Family Vacation Ideas

You’ve got time off work, the kids are ready to be amused – now what? If you’re stumped for family vacation ideas, consider your family’s preferences and needs, and plan accordingly. Like to rough it? Prefer luxury? Into adventure and exploration? Figure out what you prefer, and you’ll have found the key to a great holiday. Families who like to travel in style will have no end of decadent accommodations to choose from. Find a country or city whose overall atmosphere will enhance this. If flashy fun sounds enticing, hit Las Vegas, where you can party and eat in style. Although the city’s known for its casinos, there are plenty of kid-friendly attractions where younger family members can enjoy themselves. For families who relish the rugged outdoorsy experience, camping in a national park is a wonderful option. Camping holidays can range from a fairly convenient full-facility park to a backwoods adventure. Popular parks include Yellowstone, with the Old Faithful geyser, and the glaciers, canyons, and enormous sequoias of Yosemite National Park. If exploring international destinations sounds enticing, choose an area that’s both safe and fairly healthy. Destinations that don’t generally require vaccinations – like the Caribbean – can ease health concerns while providing an enjoyable new atmosphere. Travel to Europe will require longer flights, but provide your family with amazing history and enjoyable new cultures and cuisines. Of course, if your family already has enjoyed several holidays in the comfort zone, it may be time to shake things up by taking a holiday that you wouldn’t usually opt for. If all of your vacations have been in faraway lands, perhaps it’s time to enjoy national sights. And if you’ve never gone camping a day in your life, be adventurous and pack off to a site. Either way, it’ll provide a change of scenery, and a taste of a different life.
