Every trip we've taken to Italy included a Cooking class. In Tavernelle, we were treated to Massimo's recipies of Duck and Beef, scrumptious! We learned how to make linguini, and tiramasu and our hard work was topped off with a special wine and olive oil tasting. Mary Forbes and Bruce Bradly, planned the class, and this event topped off our stay in Tuscany's Chianti de Castellini.
Leave it to Ms. Forbes to top that cooking class with our last culinary bash on the Island of Ischia. Actually, we traveled to Sorrento, and spent the day learning how to make a variety of different recipies. Many of which I will post in the next few weeks on MikesMunchies.
I've documented our trip which you can view on older posts.
Sunday morning, Tom Everson, my brother in law, calls and sells us on the idea of trecking over to the Market Place movie theater in Long Beach, California, to watch "Julia." I'm not one that can handle Meryl Streep, since we are not on the same page politically, but what the heck, we get talked into hitting the Sunday matinee. Mr. Everson makes it a family outing and invites Larry and Mary Py, my wife's brother and his wife.
I have to eat my words....Streep, is one heck of an actor, the movie was wonderful, and I'll be surprised if she does not get nominated for an Academy Award.
Anyone that loves to cook, should visit their local theater, soon, and watch this culinary work of movie making.....In my book, it's a good recipe to top off your weekend.
