A city known for its food, Chicago celebrates summer and Independence Day with the Taste of Chicago festival (June 26-July 5) in Grant Park. Showcasing menu highlights from more than 70 restaurants, sample—or eat your fill of—Chicago specialties like deep-dish pizza and Italian beef sandwiches, see chef demonstrations, and watch live music. The Family Village provides a packed schedule each day of fun activities for kids, or head to the Taste Sports Pavilion for the chance to meet and play ball with players from the Chicago Bears, Bulls, and White Sox. Admission to festival grounds is free, but to try the food you'll have to buy tickets.
